Our mission

Most clinical research never reaches the people it's about. It sits behind paywalls, buried in jargon, or compressed into headlines that promise more than the data supports. The Clinical Perspective exists to close that gap: we distill published studies in clinical psychology and mental health into summaries that are rigorous enough for clinicians and clear enough for everyone else.

What we do

Each post takes one study and walks through what was actually done, what was found, and — just as importantly — what the study can't tell us. Summaries are published on Instagram and archived here, and every one links back to the original paper so you can verify the source yourself.

How studies are chosen

Coverage prioritizes research that is:

• Peer-reviewed — published in a recognized journal, or clearly labeled when it isn't (e.g., preprints).
• Clinically relevant — findings that could plausibly matter for treatment, assessment, or public understanding of mental health.
• Methodologically interesting — strong designs worth highlighting, or flawed ones worth learning from.
• Requested by readers — the most upvoted studies in the Reader Queue get priority consideration.

Editorial principles

• Accuracy over hype. If a finding is preliminary, small, or contested, the summary says so.
• Limitations always noted. Every study has them; pretending otherwise is how bad science communication happens.
• Sources always linked. Nothing is summarized that you can't trace back to the original.
• Corrections are public. If we get something wrong, the post is corrected and the correction is acknowledged — not quietly edited.
